Jece Valadão (nascido Gecy) tinha a fama de machão e construiu a imagem de um cafajeste. Dono de filmografia invejável, num total de 106 filmes, atuou também em 50 peças teatrais e na televisão.

Casado seis vezes, com lindas mulheres, teve nove filhos e três netos. Sua quarta mulher foi a atriz Vera Gimenez (mãe da apresentadora Luciana Gimenez), com quem teve o filho Marco Antônio Gimenez, também ator.

Jece Valadão atuou em "Carnaval no Fogo" (1949), "Rio 40 Graus" (1955), "Os Cafajestes" (1962), "Bonitinha Mas Ordinária" (1963), "Navalha na Carne" (1969), "Ninguém Segura Essas Mulheres" (1976), "Eu Matei Lúcio Flávio" (1979), "A Idade da Terra" (1980), "Memorial de Maria Moura" (1994), "Tieta do Agreste" (1996), "O Cangaceiro" (1997), "O Evangelho Segundo Jece Valadão" (2001).

Filmou com diretores como Nelson Pereira dos Santos, Ruy Guerra, Glauber Rocha e Carlos Diegues. Seus últimos trabalhos foram participações na novela "Bang Bang" e na série "Sob Nova Direção" (TV Globo), e na série "Filhos do Carnaval" (HBO) e em recente filme de José Mojica Marins, "Encarnação do Demônio".

Há dez anos o ator tinha se tornado evangélico e foi pastor da Assembléia de Deus no Bom Retiro, em São Paulo. No dia 20 de novembro de 2006, Jece Valadão foi internado em São Paulo com insuficiência respiratória e acabou falecendo poucos dias depois, aos 76 anos.
